What you should be doing before you go...Get to know the area. You are blessed to be studying at a time where access to information is so readily available. You have been given the login in code for digimaps by your teacher. This is a good place to begin. Using this in conjunction with image searches of the area (google maps and street view can provide you with a lot of information). We would suggest creating map which has images of the area overlaid onto it. You can annotate this in google slides or powerpoint. Have a look at the slide show on the right to give you some ideas.

Terminology!
Being confident using terminology is massively important. Make sure you are comfortable with the terms below - they will be helpful for both the controlled assessment and as more general revision for the exams in summer.
Grid references
Being able to use grid references effectively shows another skill set that will allow you to move up the marking ladder. If you need a little help / a reminder the slideshow below provides you with a walkthrough. If you use this in conjunction with the OS Locate app on a phone it can prove pretty slick.
