Deptford
Deptford is a vibrant and diverse community in London that offers a great deal of opportunities for studying Geography. We are blessed to be living in an Alpha ++ World City and have a cultural heritage the extends many centuries back in history and spans across all the inhabited continents. These pages intend to highlight some of the opportunities (and threats) that we face as a community in the twenty first century. It will take some time to build so keep coming back and let us know what you think.
The River Ravensbourne
This is our local river. Known as Deptford Creek in the tidal reaches it is an important part of the landscape of Deptford. Click on the image above to take you where you can explore more (as always, a work in progress) Swimming at Wavelengths

Cycling.
Deptford has fantastic cycling links to the rest of London. You can cycle along the river to Tower Bridge and the South Bank visiting a number of the famous sights London has to offer. Albany Theatre

Artist studios.
Deptford is renown for the vibrant artist community. There are many galleries that you can visit that show the work of local artists. Some of the studios even have open days where you can visit and talk to the artists themselves. Royal Museums Greenwich
